Fair weather wind, cold and dry. On Lake Neuchâtel, it quickly raises a short and steep chop. Ideal for sporty sailing, but requires vigilance as it can blow hard and create waves over 1.5 meters.
Thermal wind descending from the Jura ridges. It typically rises in the late afternoon on hot summer days. Beware, it can be sudden, violent, and often heralds thunderstorms. It is advisable to seek shelter or reduce sail when it approaches.
The dominant and often most regular wind. It generally brings depressions or a clear sky (vent blanc). It is the perfect wind for long, peaceful crossings along the Grande Cariçaie towards Neuchâtel.
